The New Porsche Cayman R

The new Porsche Cayman R is 121 lbs lighter than the current Cayman S and has 10 more horsepower. It made its world debut at the 2010 Los Angeles car show. It has a 3.4 litre 6 cylinder boxer engine which produces 330 hp. When equipped with the standard 6-speed manual transmission, the Cayman R accelerates from 0 to 60 in 4.7 seconds. When equipped with the optional 7-speed PDK transmission, the R accelerates from 0-60 in 4.6 sec, 4.4 seconds with the PDK Sport Plus. Its top speed is 175 mph/282 kph with the manual gearbox, 174 mph/280 kph with the PDK. It weighs 2855 (with the 6-speed manual). The R is 20 millimetres lower than the Cayman S and has a fixed rear wing. To differentiate it from the S, the R has black-framed headlights and black exterior mirrors. The new Porsche Cayman R goes on sale in Q1 of 2011.
